Just before 0900 hours, Lehigh County comm center dispatched companies 23, 9, 6 and 24 to the area of Rt. 873 and Friedens Rd. for a house fire with rescue – a elderly man reported to be on the roof of the house. A fire police captain arrives and reports a working fire. Crews find heavy fire on the first and second floors of the dwelling. 4 handlines are stretched and in-service. Ladder 23 sets up in the front of the fire building while ladder 24 goes to the roof on the Delta side. Crews quickly darkened down the bulk of the fire but had extensive overhaul ops due to heavy extension into the walls. It took firefighters about an hour to contain the fire. Walnutport, Neffs and Lehigh Township assisted at the scene.
This video shows an apartment fire at 1307 12th Street NW in Washington, DC. The video was shot by DCFD PIO Alan Etter and released to members of Engine Company 4. The fire involved a fifth floor apartment. No one was seriously injured.

This fire started in the garage and quickly moved interior. The fire was caused by a leaking fuel line on a truck. The house was a near total loss.

On the other side of the street of the Regal Ridge apartment complex in Spokane on the South Hill on 5/13/09- I saw more of an idea of the damage that was done to that unit. The attic and the upper unit- gone. Supposedly the lower units suffered damage as well.
There was an apartment fire at my apartment complex on the South Hill in Spokane today, 5/13/09. It wasn’t in the building I live in…but…it was still something to see and be a bit shocked by. I took a bit of video using my digital camera. This is one angle- we were walking outside to go run errands when this was going on. (We didn’t get those errands done that day, obviously- roads were blocked off and there were fire trucks in front of our garage!)
