An enthusiastic Texas Rangers fan falls out of the stands in left field while trying to catch a foul ball tossed by Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton. The commentators of the game initially joke upon witnessing the incident, unaware of how seriously the fan is wounded. Tragically, the man later died. NOTE: This video does NOT show the man dying. He initially survived the fall and was fully conscious and talking. UPDATE – The deceased fan has been identified as an 18-year veteran of the Brownwood, Texas fire department. Witholding the man’s name for now out of respect for the family’s privacy. www.huffingtonpost.com

This Dallas, Texas house fire occurred on May 14, 2009 near midnight. 3 Engines, a Hook and Ladder, and A battalion chief took in the first alarm. An extra engine was requested by Incident Command. Fire started in the garage and got into the attic and was going through the roof when we arrived on the scene. The video was taken with a Sony Camcorder using Nightshot Plus which gives it a greenish color cast. It was pitch black dark and I am amazed that the video came out at all. The fire showing was kind of washed-out, but gives you an idea of the intensity of the fire.

HOUSTON, April 13 (UPI) — Authorities say they are investigating the deaths of two Houston firefighters who were killed while battling a house fire. Capt. James Harlow and Damien Hobbs of Station 26 were killed Sunday, KPRC-TV of Houston reported Monday. The station said Harlow, 50, was hired by the department in 1979 and had been a captain at Fire Station 26 since 2004. Hobbs, 29, a probationary firefighter, had graduated from training in March. Harlow and Hobbs were reportedly inside a burning southeast Houston home searching, along with other firefighters, for victims trapped inside. The search was called off after flames became too intense, but the men did not make it out of the home. The two firefighters were removed from inside after the blaze was under control. The civilians inside the home were unharmed in the blaze.

Initially reported as a Structure Fire with vehicle next to building. Owners moved vehicle away prior to arrival.
