Ride along with squad 14 from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, following a private BLS ambulance to the hospital in Inglewood. The patient was the victim of a stroke and its condition requested one of the squad paramedics to remain in the ambulance to provide ALS care. The squad’s electronic siren is made by Unitrol but the truck also has a two tone air horn siren similar to the french ones and can be operated by the passenger (in this case me: the cameraman) through a foot switch – by Dirk Steinhardt – www.rescue911.de – Los Angeles, California, USA – 09.2010 – Thanks to the guys from 14!!!

Saw the Asheville Fire Department downtown racing to a call, so I followed. It ended up this house caught on fire and the attic was smoking and some flames. Got to talk to the family and also Chief Bart Rice of the Buncombe County Rescue Squad (BuncombeRescue.org), who was glad to see that we got some footage of the fire, etc. Again… Asheville has so many great public service groups, I feel safer here than anywhere in the world!
