This is a slide show of a vehicle fire on Route 295 in New Jersey. The slide show was created by one of the firefighters at Florence Twp. Fire Department. I don’t know who took the pictures. I had to change the music to avoid copyright problems.

NANAIMO – If you’re involved in a car accident in Nanaimo, don’t assume police will arrive at the scene. Nanaimo RCMP announced today that as of December 2nd, they will no longer respond to most motor vehicle incidents. Instead, the fire department will determine whether police presence at the scene is necessary. The new policy will mean Nanaimo RCMP members will not routinely be called out to MVI’s – or motor vehicle incidents – rather, the fire department will attend – and determine whether police presence is required. If the crash has fatalities, injuries, is criminal in nature, or if drugs or alcohol is suspected, Firefighters will call out the RCMP. As of December 2nd, Nanaimo Fire Rescue will respond to crash scenes, direct traffic, facilitate the sharing of contact information between those involved in the crash and call tow trucks. Police say it’s a question of safety and effective use of resources. 1200 routine MVIs were attending by police last year. Each accident can take up to one hour and a half to deal with. The fire department says members have received additional training to take over from duties normally performed by police. The new policy will be reviewed over the next 6 months – changes made if needed.
