Around 0400 hours on Saturday November 29 Salisbury station 31 was dispatched to a reported house fire. Police got on location and reported a working fire, 3101 quickly upgraded to a second alarm and reported the house well involved on arrival. A brief interior attack was attempted but crews quickly pulled out due to heavy fire conditions and the attack went defensive. Numerous hand lines where placed in service and the fire was brought under control in about 2 hours. One minor injury was reported to a firefighter and the cause is under investigation at the time of this posting.

fire started around 1pm today, believe it was caused by a cigarette, under investigation by the RCMP . Fireman responded from Salisbury, Petticodiac , Elgin, Havelock, Riverview and Moncton fire depts. The couple lost everything in the fire, and had no insurance. CRC is supplying the couple with a RV to live in for now. Videos were used on Global news, CTV, CNN & 2 Bon heures.

Moncton Fire Dept had to respond to this house fire at 46593 Homestead Rd. ( Old Trans Canada) because Salisbury Fire had no manpower at the time. Riverview & Petticodiac Fire Depts. also responded. House was fully engulfed and at one time a fireman said there were people trapped. You could see the smoke from miles away. Fire call came in at 2:17pm and at 2:33pm everyone was out of the home. Ambulance was needed at the scene and by 3:10pm Firefighters had the fire knocked down. There were guns and 500 rounds of Ammunition going off making it dangerous for Firefighters. District 11 RCMP were on scene & Fire Investigator was being called to the fire. TheGovernment should make it law so Volunteer Firefighters can leave work in Emergencies. UPDATE: Chris Lewis and his Family are homeless once again as this is the second fire the family has lived through . In May 05 they lost there farm house to a fire. Family lost all there possessions but are thankful everyone is ok.
