PATERSON NJ FIRE HILLMAN ST FULLY INVOLVED ON ARRIVAL 5/26/06

At 3:48 pm Attala County Fire, Attala Sheriff’s Department, the Mississippi Highway Patrol & Sallis Volunteers responded to Hwy 14 West at Zemuly for a vehicle fire. First reports were of a gas truck that was fully engulfed. Audio While en-route to the location, it was reported as two vehicles, one a car pulling a trailer and a pickup truck carrying paint thinner. Audio Smoke from the fire could be seen miles away from the scene. After arriving on scene firefights found one pickup with paint thinner in the bed and pulling a trailer all fully involved. The highway was shut completely down as fire crews battled the blaze. According to Captain Goza with Central Fire Station, the driver of the vehicle was from Louisville. He stated that something exploded in the bed of the truck when the fire started. The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Just after 1:30 am GFD was dispatched to a reported rollover wit entrapment and a vehicle fire, on arrival Engine 5 advised there was no fire and the victim was not pinned. The vehicle veered off the road striking a concrete bench, a brick flower bed, and coming to rest on it’s side against the Gary Public Library at 40th and Broadway. The victim was transported to Methodist North Lake in serious condition.

House Fire fully involved 3 exposures, House next door almost burns. Abandoned house burns to the ground. Engine (4 Kuakini?) is first on scene,Engine 25 20+year old pumper Nuuanu second on scene uses deck gun to protect exposure on west side. Engine 1 Central brand new Pumper with CAFS arrives next.
