LSFD was dispatched to a report of smoke filling a house, police arrived on scene first and advised smoke showing. On arrival Fire 6 advised fire through the roof in a large two story frame single family dwelling. Fire crews made an interior attack and had to force their way to the attic. Basicly the whole fire was knocked from the interior and was knocked within 10 minutes of arrival. As many fires as I have been to, I thought the roof and second floor was a loss for sure. The Lake Station FD did an outstanding job and deffinetly out did themselves as usual. Nobody was hurt at the fire scene and all residents were self evacuated.

***Some cursing on video*** While shooting some ENG/stock footage last night of a tank battery fire near Lamesa, TX that was ignited by lightning, an explosion took place that sent a foot and half long, 4″ diameter pipe valve from 200 yards away arcing directly into the front of my storm chase vehicle causing extensive damage. While checking out a fire in Lake Station that I had missed a dark header was visible just south of Ridge Rd and I-65 then Gary toned out for a reported still alarm at 1331 East 50th Place. It was quite evident there was a working fire from where I was. Engine 5 being first on scene advised of a working fire in an attached garage to a 2 story frame dwelling. Thankfully there was a hydrant right by the fire and a water source was established. Multiple lines were stretched and the fire was brought under control without injuries. One exposure suffered damage and nobody was in the original fire building.

LSFD was dispatched to a reported fully involved house fire at about 9:15, on arrival heavy smoke and fire blowing from one window was found. It only took a little oxygen for the fire to blow out of every window. Incredible water placement knocked the fire right away and nobody was injured. Thank God the residents were not at home when the fire broke out and investigators were on scene working. Awesome job by LSFD!
