GFD was dispatched to the 2300 Block of Connecticut at 2:48 pm on 10-24-08. Truck 4 was first on scene and reported heavy smoke showing and a working fire in a 25×50 brick vacant single family dwelling. The rear porches that were wood took off and extended into the house. Fire was blowing through the roof soon after and the truck was set-up. Multiple lines were stretched out and an interior attack was made. Nobody was hurt at the scene and crews worked for about an hour and a half.

3 Alarms at this triple decker on Rebekah St in Woonsocket RI on 12/10/10. The first calls came in around 11:30AM and two alarms were quickly struck. Fire extended into the exposure building on the B side of the original fire building but was quickly knocked down. A great job as always by WFD!

On Sunday, November 8th the members of the Smithtown Fire Department Probationary class had a heavy rescue drill. The firefighters were shown the tools used in heavy rescue and how to perform a vehicle extrication. www.smithtownfd.org

The Australian Trucking Association’s Industry Technical Council, together with the Narrandera Shire Council and ATA NSW, conducted a heavy vehicle information day for local council staff, the RTA and NSW Police at Narrandera on 28 August 2009. The day introduced guests to aa number of unique truck combinations, for consideration on the state’s roads. The combinations on show were a BAB-Quad, an AB-Triple, a Type One Road Train, a Pocket Road Train, a B-Triple, a B Double and a Seven-Axle Truck and Dog.
