District #1 was dispatched to the area of Elizabeth Avenue and Schoolhouse Road for a report of smoke in the area. Units arrived and discovered a column of smoke rising out of the woods in the area of an abandoned driveway. Upon further investigation, an abandon house was discovered on fire . The structure was a considerable distance off of the road and appeared to have been burning for some time. After overcoming obstructions in the driveway, 26-3 extinguished the fire with the assistance of other district companies.

May 23, 2010 – At around 2:00am, Station 56 (Somerset), and Station 44 (Middlesbush) were dispatched to the intersection of New Brunswick Rd. and Cedar Grove Ln for the reported dump truck on fire. Crews arrived to find 2 commercial vehicles well involved in fire in a landscaping yard. The fire was extinguished without incident.

During the late morning hours of April 13, 2008, Elizabeth Ave. and Somerset Fire Companies were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the area of Weston Canal Rd. and Rt. 287. Crews arrived to find a small fire in the engine compartment that was knocked down by PD.
District 1 Companies responded to a working motor vehicle fire at the intersection on Weston Canal Rd. & Apgar Dr. on March 15, 2008.Crews arrived to find a fully involved Jeep with minor extension to a utility pole.

At around 4:09AM during the pre-dawn hours of Feb. 8, 2009, Stations 26, 27, and 56 were dispatched to the Quality Inn parking lot on Easton Ave. for the reported motor vehicle fire. Crews arrived to find a motor vehicle well involved in fire. Extinguishment was completed by the crews of Engine 26-3 and Engine 27-8.

District 1 Companies responded to a working house fire during the evening hours of June 7, 2009. Arriving companies were met with a heavy fire condition from the front of the structure. Crews made a good stop on the fire containing it to the front living room and minor extension into the attic area.
