I-65N and Cobbs Ford Rd., this burning vehicle was partially blocking the exit ramp. At 3 minutes in, the front right tire explodes. The fire dept. takes over shortly after.

A 2 door Ford Explorer leaving a trail of an oily substance across the Preston Crossing Parking lot, stopped at the south outside gas pumps of the Co-op Gas bar, where it proceeded to smoulder and smoke badly, disappearing from view at times. Attendants tried to control the smoke by applying retardant, then pushed the vehicle away from the pumps. Burning materials were then seen to drop from it to the ground, then flames. A Canadian Tire employeed came by warning people to stand well back as the glass had not blown out of the vehicle yet. Soon pops were heard, and the air rush into the interior fanned flames just as the firetruck arrived parking upwind by the pumps. Firemen are shown putting out the huge flames….but had to pry the hood open to put the flames out there. Copyright 2009
