No injuries have been reported in the multiple-alarm blaze, but some residents say they’ve lost everything. (May 29)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] Fire officials are trying to figure what caused this Boston area apartment building to go up in flames.((John Croke: Somebody from work called me and said the place was burning. I got in my car rushed here and got my cats out.))No injuries have been reported, but some of the people who live here say their homes have been destroyed.((Ben Bellucci SOT: Everything I own is gone. I have the clothes on my back and the things in my pocket and that’s it.))Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to other buildings in the complex…but they couldn’t stop the smoke.((Fire Chief Steven Pasdon: These conditions were arduous. It was windy. Winds 20 miles, gusts high. Heat index was high…))At one point this thick cloud could be seen about 12 miles away.Residents say this isn’t the first time a fire has broken out in the complex.((Joe: The fire happened the building burned down and it made us feel a little uncomfortable but they assured us it was something small…))There is some speculation that this blaze…like the one before it…may have been caused by a gas leak.No word yet from fire officials if that is indeed the case.

At 10:35pm on Valentine’s Day GFD was toned out for the smell of smoke at 24th and Tyler, while en route dispatched filled the assignment out to a still. On arrival heavy smoke was visible in the area and shortly after a working house fire was found. While crews made an aggressive attack with tank water they had to stop and wait for a good hydrant. After a positive water source was established the fire was quickly knocked. Nobody was injured at the scene. Great job by GFD!
