Lake Station EMS were requested for a head-on crash at Liverpool Rd and Hampton, a 2nd ambulance was requested on arrival along with Fire Department Personal for multiple victims. The driver of the black Alero crossed the yellow lines crashing into a Lake County Sheriff squad. Nobody was pinned, but the Sheriffs officer was transported to Saint Marys Medical Center via Als ambulance. The 2nd victim was transported by Bls.

Benoit Treluyer suffered no serious injuries following his huge accident in the Pescarolo-run privateer Peugeot 908 turbo-diesel during the 14th hour of the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours, team principal Henri Pescarolo has confirmed. The Frenchman crashed out of fourth place in the Esses after the Dunlop Bridge, striking the barrier at high-speed and writing off the updated 2008-spec coupe. But while he was taken to the medical centre after a lengthy extrication from the wreck, Pescarolo says that the 32-year-old is okay. “I was with him in the medical centre and I have spoken to him and he is okay,” said Pescarolo. “But the car is completely destroyed. The 32-year-old Frenchman had just taken over the car from Simon Pagenaud in fourth place, just two laps behind the leading #9 factory Peugeot. Pagenaud brought the car into the pits with smoke pouring from the front-left wheel arch. it was in the garage for four minutes while the team changed the nosecone, cleaned out the radiators, worked around the front left corner and replaced the engine cover and rear bodywork, before Treluyer was sent out. He only made it as far as the Esses after after the Dunlop Bridge on his out-lap before the Peugeot left the road and struck the barrier at high-speed. The car was destroyed in the accident with only the cockpit shell remaining in tact. It is not yet clear whether the crash was caused by a mechanical failure.

(Cleared for Disaster) On 1 February 1991, USAir 1493, registration number N388US, departed Syracuse, making stops at Washington, DC and Columbus, Ohio before continuing to Los Angeles (LAX). On its final leg, the aircraft carried 83 passengers and a crew of six. Shortly after 6 PM local time, as USAir 1493 was making its final approach to LAX, SkyWest Airlines Flight 5569, a twin-engine Fairchild Metro III (N683AV), a commuter flight bound for Palmdale with 10 passengers and two crew members on board, was cleared by LAX air traffic control (ATC) to taxi into its takeoff position.[1] Due to traffic, Skywest 5569 was cleared to taxi to Runway 24L and enter at the intersection of taxiway 45, some 2200ft from the runway threshold. The same local controller then cleared US1493 to land on the same runway. US1493 touched down near the runway threshold and shortly thereafter slammed into the Skywest aircraft. Both aircraft skidded down the runway, the Metro crushed beneath the 737′s fuselage. The wreckage came to rest on the far side of the taxiway against an empty building, then caught fire.[1]

The B-MET extrication team was called upon, together with other track rescue units, to tend to the driver. Investigators say the Cherokee-140 plane hit the building at 9:46 am central time, the pilot has been identified as Joseph Andrew Stack.
