August 2nd, 1992- 4th Alarm apartment building fire
A compilation of video and pictures from incidents the Berwyn Heights Volunteer Fire Department responded to in 2007. For the year, BHVFD operated on 82 working fires and 65 extrications. The Berwyn Heights VFD (Station 14) is located in Prince George’s County, Maryland, about 1 mile from the University of Maryland, College Park campus and 5 miles from the nation’s capital, Washington, DC Station 14 currently operates four types of apparatus to handle the emergencies and incidents that occur in the area – two heavy rescue squads, a tractor-drawn aerial ladder truck, two basic life support ambulances and a rescue boat.

Obviously the bulk of the fire had been knocked by the time I missed every stoplight and flew up 476 to get there shortly after the 20 minute mark. Chief 15-9 (Radnor) arrived to find this large detached garage fully involved. Other companies on s…cene: Chester County Stations 2 (Berwyn), 3 (Paoli) and 4 (Malvern) and Montgomery County Engine 23 (Bryn Mawr) and Air 24 (Gladwyne) Medics 109 (Bryn Mawr Hospital), 313 (Narberth EMS) and 317 (Lafayette of Upper Merion Twp) also stood by the scene. One firefighter treated after sustaining minor injuries from a fall from a ladder
