Video from a house fire at 43 Baxter Street in Melrose Massachusetts on February 3rd, 2008. I live just around the block from the fire and could see the flames from my house! News reports say it was a 4 alarm fire.. But no injuries were reported. Saw trucks from Melrose, Revere, Stoneham, Reading, Lynn, Medford, Somerville, Waltham, Everett, Weston, Wakefield, and Chelsea www.CanobieFan.com (DAMN IT I spelled the street name wrong in the video.. A dog has risked its life to protect four kittens trapped in a house fire in Melbourne, Australia. Firefighters found Leo guarding the kittens which were in a cardboard box in one of the bedrooms. When the fire broke out inside the house, the family of four plus their other dog managed to escape. However Leo paid the price for his bravery. He succumbed to the smoke and heat. Firefighters rushed the dog to safety and revived the unconscious Leo with a heart massage and oxygen.

Lansdowne, MD – September 11, 2009 – Baltimore County, MD firefighters responded to an early morning house fire in Lansdowne on Friday, September 11. Fire Box 36-3 was dispatched at 1:38 am reporting a house on fire at 2361 Research Drive. First arriving units from BCoFD Station 5 (Halethorpe) reported a fully involved two-story dwelling and began stretching lines for fire attack. Firefighters confirmed all occupants had escaped the house, and due to heavy fire conditions command ordered a defensive operation. Firefighters used multiple hand lines and the deck gun from Engine 5 to bring the blaze under control. Crews found a pet cat outside the home and a paramedic resuscitated the animal with oxygen before turning it over to a family member who took it to an emergency animal hospital. The BCoFD Fire Investigation Division was requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

Catasauqua Station 2 was dispatched at 1615 hours to a house fire at 722 Race St. Chief 202 arrived on scene and found heavy fire in a 2 1/2 story S/F/D and signaled a working fire then struck the 2nd alarm. Engine 212 arrived and stretched a line to the front of the building and connected a water-supply at the corner of 14th and Race. Ladder Co. 231 took position on the ‘D’ side of the building on 14th Street and went to the roof to open up. Heavy fire was venting from all the windows on the first floor side ‘D’ and some upper windows. The bulk of the fire was darkened down on the initial hit from the entry team. Whitehall truck 6 positioned itself in the front of the building. The second alarm was struck at 1617 hours for North Catasaqua Engine 18, Whitehall Engine 1, Whitehall Engine 2 (RIT) and Coplay Air unit 5. Special- called to the scene was Whitehall Truck 6 and Engine 3 and Han-Le-Co Engine 33.
