This was a huge apartment fire in Renton, WA just a few blocks over from where I live. I heard a huge explosion but I thought it was just people setting off fireworks early until my buddy called and asked if that was MY house that was on fire.
Smoky Apartment Fire Snarls Traffic in Center City by KYW’s Ian Bush Philadelphia firefighters were called to battle a blaze in the heart of center city on Wednesday afternoon. The fire started just before 12:30pm in an apartment building along the 1200 block of Walnut Street. Officials reported heavy smoke coming from the top floor of the three-story building. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. There have been traffic tie-ups in the area, and some buses were being detoured.
2/6/09. Jacksonvile firefighters respond to a two story multi-unit apartment fire. Firefighters were met with heavy smoke & fire conditions. Reports were that the fire was spotted following an explosion at the complex. It took over 50 firefighters to safely control the scene.

NFD Engine 9-5 responds to a 1st due apartment fire with reports of subjects trapped. Not much action after arrival, but you can hear the radio transmissions from the 1st in crew. Fortunately all subjects were removed from the apartment prior to FD arrival, and 9-5′s crew made a quick knock.
