October 27, 1991. Puyallup, WA. This fire could have been prevented if the person who’s mattress had caught fire not leaned it against an exterior wall of the structure when it was removed. Thinking the mattress was extinguished, the fire smoldered and worked it’s way inside the wall and the rest is history. No injuries. Heavy damage.

3rd Alarm Apartment Fire Allentown,Pa 4-08-09 Part 2 (Allentown Heroes Series 1 Episode 2) News Article: Firefighters in Allentown battled a blaze last night around 10:30 PM The fire occurred at 833 Pine St. in center city Allentown. Firefighters arrived on scene with heavy fire showing. The fire was coming out of the 2nd floor and roof area. The fire spread to the building next store and caused fire and smoke damage. One person was treated with smoke inhalation at the scene. Fire crews at a hard time reaching the fire due to the tight streets. The red cross is assisting 5 adult and 2 children that were displaced from the fire. Personal Experience: I live right on the 300 block of lumber and heard the engines coming down the street and looked out to see smoke. I went to the rear of the my house and saw the flames shooting out the 2nd floor rear of the structure. I grabbed my camera and started shooting. I was first on scene with the arriving engine companies. I got video of the flames shooting out the rear of the structure and the first hand lines being put into service. I also went on my roof and got shoots from the roof.

Wichita Firefighters battled the 2-alarm fire near 21st and Rock Road. Smoldering cigarette ashes are to blame for the fire. No one was hurt.

When we arrived at the scene at this time the left part of the building was still smoking *** A 5-Alarm Fire broke out 4:30am Sunday November 22, 2009. The fire was started accidentally in the 3 story apartment building. It was started under the roof in an area known as the cockloft, located on the second floor by an unattended an open-flame candle in apartment B21 that caught a curtain or blanket on fire at the Austin Manor apartments at 7024 Rising Sun Avenue between Tyson and Princeton Avenues in the city’s Lawncrest section. Responders were at the apartment complex with in 4 minutes but the building was already fully engulfed. Most residents were out on the sidewalk while others were rescued by firefighters or forced to jump from the windows to safety. More than 100 people were evacuated and was said that 19 people had to be rushed to the hospital with various injuries. Four were in stable condition, & Three were in serious condition with severe burns. Injuries range from burns to smoke inhalation, to trauma from jumping from upper floor windows. This is not the first time this apartment complex has caught fire with the same exact cause of a candle in October of 2001 though it was the other building. burned out of control for more than 90 minutes The building is a total loss.
