Great video, great response. I like how you actually use the Q to its advantage than just standing on it until it winds up all the way and leaving it there.
Also nice stop at the intersection for the EMS vehicle. I have seen, in person and on YouTube, people not even slow down for the intersections.
no, because you wouldve felt like u had to do something, however, you would have gotten in the way and possible injured. Don’t ever wish that you’ve seen an mva or a fire, it’s not good for the people it’s happening to.
Heres what goes down at my station, and also commen sense. As an example, if our Engine and a Medic at the next station are called on a medical, were both going to the same place, right? We know exactly where their station is, and we thus know what intersection that either their medic or our engine has to turn on to get to the same destination, and so we call that intersection out. If were going to the same place, we have to get onto the same road somehow, and its safe to call that road out.
Most counties have different frequencies for their fire and EMS. And even those who use the same frequency, unless you know exactly where the other vehicle is, you’re not going to be calling them every intersection you’re about to enter to make sure they stop. The only example I can think of where this happens is FDNY, if the dispatcher is GOOD, they’ll know the route most trucks are going to take and call the trucks to let them know that they may meet another one, but that’s really it…
I am sure that they know in advance that the medic vehicle is coming because they have constant radio communication… so probably the medic van let the engine know that it’s coming in hot…
Driver did an excellent job stopping at the first intersection and actually LOOKING. Many of them would have just expected all cars to be stopped and would have been T-Boned by the medic vehicle. Good job!
holy dam someone really fucked up
@JosesDonkey2112 the q is short for the “federal q ” and it is the really loud wining siren you hear like the whole way through
Great stop for the EMS vehicle!
a Q is the siren that sounds kinda like a fast air raid siren. And it is loud and people move when they hear it.
what is a “Q” and what does it do?
Connecticut
where is this?
Great video!
