one man extension ladder throw
a method for one firefighter to throw a 28′ 2 or 3 section ground ladder by yourself. This method avoids the pitfalls of the typical one person technique where the butt is grounded at the bottom of the building.

Is this somewhere in the NFPA? Why wouldn’t you just do a low carry? He’s already breathing hard and he isn’t on the roof yet!
My chief would ream me a new if i did something like that, never carry a 3 beam ladder by our self you’ll be exhausted just doing it
This tech is for ffs who don’t want a long career. Next stop, Life Safety Div.
Morgan, you are right! It is a good evolution by one person, but not a safe way to do it. Overexertion can lead to getting hurt on the job and you will be useless at a fire if that happens
you should never carry a 3 fly ladder by yourself if you get hurt they wont put you on disiblity.
Nice Job
I know how those ladders are and that was perfect
Thanks
Impressive, but I need to see some cable guy videos. I use a 28′ fiberglass numerous times a day. Always glad to learn as much as I can about that which is holding my ass safe way the hell up in the air.
Have the injury report form ready. lol Looks impressive though!
Gnarly technique. Looked really fluid. Great job. Gettin the job done….
For back safety, this would be better done using more leg than back to start the motion; then let physics take over. Nice job however
great video!! bravo
Did you watch the video? He said it was a 28′ ladder. Not 24.
who has there firefighter 1 certification?
that might work for your first few years…. I’m going for retirement with my back in one piece. i appreciate the enthusiasm though.
that ladder is garbage
Thanks Sir really appreciate this video..
