Mobile Home Fire Near O’Hare Airport

www.arlingtoncards.com SAT APR 07 2007 — One mobile home a total loss and extension to a second trailer home near O’Hare International Airport. Elk Grove Township Fire Protection District calls for a Second Alarm Box at 400 West Touhy Avenue in Des Plaines, IL. Firefighter operations shown in this video. Also, a group of residents nearby helped firefighters by moving two vehicles away from the front curb of the fire scene. See www.arlingtoncards.com Four wheel jack devices, such as a GoJak Wheel Dolly or Vehicle Lift were used by placing the jacks underneath the tires of the vehicles and using a built-in foot ratchet to lift the cars enough to move them safely while their transmissions remained in park. You can see the second vehicle (a Ford Explorer) getting ratcheted up (1:03/3:10 or 2:07 remaining) and then pushed away (1:14/3:10 or 1:56 remaining). The fire scene was too tight with fire engines and hoses to allow a tow truck to come in and move the cars.

The aluminum foil lady was back in 2004. That was actually a fire in the Des Plaines park, that damaged trailors in the Touhy Mobile home park. I lived in 400 W park back then. I believe that one actually burned 3 trailors to the ground, and damaged several others.
i remember this is when i used to live there it was a mexican lady that put a tamale in the microwave with alluminum foil and like 6 other moblie homes where affected tht was like wht 4 5 years ago its by the buger king and
i love how in the academy they preach how important your technique is in everything from carrying ladders to proper pike pole handling. yet everytime you see a video on here you can just count how many times you see something so against what your taught.
someone pute tin foil in the microwave, they had to hold the kids im school till like 6:00 cuz of it, but i dont live in a trailor so i was ok

were they pushing that car out of the way by sliding it down the road?
i do not want to live exactly on a trailer home but i think it is interesting to live on it though .
