Santa Crew Ends Busy Shift with Vehicle Fire

12-24-2009 Virginia The Lexington Fire Department was dispatched to a Vehicle Fire on Interstate 81. First units arrived to find a tractor trailer on fire with the tractor fully involved. E92s crew arrived on scene and assisted Engine 1102s Crew with fire attack and suppression. The fire was quickly knocked down and crews worked to overhaul the tractor. Units from Natural Bridge, Glasgow and Lexington worked to clear the incident within 30 minutes. This call came as the closure to a busy Christmas Eve for the crew. The shift began at 0630 for a smoke scare and the crew handled 8 additional calls for service ranging from simple MVCs to multiple cardiac calls and a technical rescue. Thanks to all the personnel and assisting agencies for all their dedication during this holiday season.
