House fire in Welland on State St. On my way to work and I saw smoke. One of our reporters was already on scene, but I went to shoot some video and stills anyway. Quickly edited video for our paper’s website.

While driving down Madison Avenue, it looked like smoke coming out from under the gutters of this house. We circled around the block and by the time we came around, it was obvious something was wrong. The GCFD and GCPD were there within 2 minutes.

This is the good old bigfoot fire that happened in Innisfail. We lost our historical town clock and it was a huge loss to the fire department. But man, it was one hell of a fight. Bryan, Thomas and I were there for a good 4/5 hours before we had to turn in and it was still raging on. Power lines froze, firemens butts froze to the ground, the inability to go inside of the building and the oh so sweet tools that they used. It burned straight through the night and they had to knock it down to get the fire out. I plan on going down one day and reveal what remains, an empty lot with a little less of Innisfail on mainstreet.
