House Fire on College Street

At 2:22 p.m. Kosciusko Police and the Kosciusko Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire at 103 College Street. Audio Upon arrival Engine one found heavy smoke and flames showing from the home. Audio Firefighters requested Kosciusko Water and light to the scene to cut the power to the home. Audio Med-Stat EMS was dispatched for medical standby. Audio Firefighters battled the blaze in the pouring rain before bring the fire under control at 3:00 pm. According to KFD the occupant was not at home at the time of the fire. The fire is believed to have started in the bedroom but the exact cause is under investigation. Santa Crew Ends Busy Shift with Vehicle Fire

12-24-2009 Virginia The Lexington Fire Department was dispatched to a Vehicle Fire on Interstate 81. First units arrived to find a tractor trailer on fire with the tractor fully involved. E92s crew arrived on scene and assisted Engine 1102s Crew with fire attack and suppression. The fire was quickly knocked down and crews worked to overhaul the tractor. Units from Natural Bridge, Glasgow and Lexington worked to clear the incident within 30 minutes. This call came as the closure to a busy Christmas Eve for the crew. The shift began at 0630 for a smoke scare and the crew handled 8 additional calls for service ranging from simple MVCs to multiple cardiac calls and a technical rescue. Thanks to all the personnel and assisting agencies for all their dedication during this holiday season. [watch video]

Shortly after 1 a.m. Monday December 28, Baltimore County (MD) Fire Department units responded to Fire Box 33-9 for a dwelling fire reported at 5227 Pembroke Avenue in Woodlawn. A Baltimore County 4th Precinct police unit reported heavy smoke in the area, and found the house with heavy smoke showing. BCoFD Engine 3 (Woodlawn career) laid in from Virginia and Pembroke, and found heavy smoke and fire showing from a 2-story house, and a working fire assignment was requested. Firefighters encountered a basement fire with extension, and stretched several lines in an attempt to knock down the fire. [watch video]
